Android Phone, Tablet & TV Box Setup in About 4 Minutes
Support Lead
Android is the least fussy platform we support. The player comes from Google Play rather than a sideload, the clipboard works so you can paste your credentials instead of typing them with a remote, and the same login covers a phone, a tablet and a TV box at once. Four minutes is realistic.
The one thing worth checking before you buy hardware: a cheap Android TV box advertised as 4K is not necessarily a box that decodes 4K. That distinction is covered below, because it is the difference between a smooth 2160p stream and a slideshow.
Step by step
Installing on Android
On a TV box, do this on the box itself. Installing from your phone Play Store does not push the app across reliably.
- 1
Install XCIPTV Player, or STB Emulator for a portal login
Open Google Play on the device you will watch on and search XCIPTV Player — that is the one we recommend for an Xtream Codes login. If you would rather use a portal-style login instead, STB Emulator (free) is the alternative; it shows a MAC address on first launch.
Tip · On an Android TV box use the TV version of the Play Store. Phone-only players run, but the remote cannot drive their touch controls.
- 2
Add the line by Xtream Codes, not M3U
In XCIPTV, choose Add playlist → Xtream Codes API and enter the server URL, username and password from your activation email. The M3U option gets you channels but usually arrives without the program guide or the on-demand catalog.
Tip · If the app offers both and you are unsure, pick Xtream Codes. You can always add the M3U link later as a fallback.
- 3
Paste the server URL, username and password
Copy each field from your activation email. Include the http:// prefix and the port number if the URL carries one — leaving the port off is the usual cause of a failed connection.
Tip · Android is the one platform where copy and paste actually works end to end. Use it rather than retyping.
- 4
Wait out the first sync
54,000+ channels and 219,577 on-demand titles take 30 to 90 seconds to index the first time. Later launches read a local cache and open instantly.
Tip · If the sync stalls at the same percentage twice, force-stop the app and reopen rather than waiting. It resumes cleanly.
- 5
Set the decoder to hardware
In the player settings choose the hardware decoder — often labeled HW+, MediaCodec or Hardware acceleration. Software decoding a 2160p HEVC stream will overheat a phone and stutter on a box.
Tip · Switch to software only if audio breaks up on a specific channel. That combination points at an audio codec the hardware path cannot handle.
- 6
Make the box behave like a TV
On an Android TV box, set the player to launch at boot and raise the network buffer to about 3 seconds. On a phone, build a favorites list so the channel list stays usable on a small screen.
Tip · A larger buffer trades a second of channel-change delay for far fewer dropouts on cheap hardware. Worth it on anything under $50.
Most common snag
A budget TV box says 4K on the label and stutters anyway
Cheap Android boxes routinely advertise 4K when their chipset only decodes HEVC 8-bit, or has no HEVC hardware path at all. The stream then falls back to software decode on a weak processor and drops frames, while 1080p channels look perfect — which is why people blame the service. Check your box's chipset for HEVC Main10 support before assuming the feed is at fault. A Fire TV Stick 4K or an Apple TV is cheaper than most rescue attempts.

Nine times out of ten a failed Android login is a missing port number or a trailing space picked up in the paste. Send a screenshot of the login screen to 212704548494 on WhatsApp or [email protected] and we will spot it immediately.
