ProgDVB has no proprietary list format of its own. It reads two standard delivery methods: an M3U8 playlist, which is a plain text URL listing every channel's stream address, or an Xtream Codes API login, where ProgDVB asks a server for the list each time you open the app. The second method updates automatically when a provider adds or removes channels; the first only updates if you manually re-fetch the URL, so it can quietly go stale while you assume it's current. Which one you use depends entirely on what your subscription hands you at signup, not on any setting inside ProgDVB itself, and switching providers usually means swapping the whole login, not editing a file.

Open ProgDVB's channel or playlist settings, choose the import method, and paste in either the M3U8 URL or the three Xtream Codes fields your provider issued: server address, username and password. There is nothing else to configure for the list itself, no separate file to download and no extra decoder to install first. If the list loads with zero channels or a login error, the fault almost always sits with the credentials or the server behind them, not with ProgDVB's parser, since the app is only reading what it's handed. Setup from a fresh login usually takes about 5 minutes once the details are in hand and typed correctly.

Two separate things can break independently: the channel list itself, and the electronic program guide (EPG) that shows what's airing next to each channel. A list that plays fine with a blank guide is an EPG feed problem, not a channel problem, because they travel on separate paths from the server. A list that stops loading entirely, meanwhile, more often traces back to a login already in use on another device than to a broken file, since most subscriptions cap how many screens can pull the same list at once.

A channel list worth judging by its size alone is easy to inflate, so check what's actually being counted before you trust the number. A useful comparison separates live channel count from on-demand titles, since the two figures measure different things entirely: one is how many linear feeds you can watch right now, the other is how deep the on-demand library runs behind it. A list built for ProgDVB should hand you both counts up front rather than one combined figure that hides which part is thin, along with how many devices can stream that same list at the same time.
