Run the trial during an actual live match, not during off hours when any feed looks fine. Check the EPG — the on-screen program guide that lists what's airing and when — against a match you already know the schedule for. If the guide is accurate and the picture holds through a full session, that's a real signal. If a channel freezes, switch away to another channel and back: recovery on switch-back means the session stalled, not your connection, which tells you the fault sits with the provider, not your setup.

Scope the problem first, before you touch a single setting. If only that one feed freezes while everything else plays fine, it's a source-side issue with that channel and probably won't recur. If a whole sports category drops together, that points to a server-side fault upstream that no local fix will resolve. If every channel struggles at once, the issue is more likely your line, your player, or your session.
