A very large playlist that bundles dozens of countries and categories together is a different problem from a broken one, and Reddit's TiviMate community keeps landing on the same fix independently across multiple threads: hide the channel groups you never watch. Trimming the visible list down to the categories you actually use cuts what the app has to hold in memory and speeds up both loading and scrolling noticeably. This isn't a workaround for a bad subscription or a sign anything is wrong with your account, it's simply how you keep a large, legitimate channel list responsive on whatever device you're running it on.

EPG stands for electronic program guide, the row of show titles and air times you see listed under each channel when you browse. It loads from the same playlist source as the channels themselves, so if channels appear on screen but the guide underneath stays blank, give it a few extra minutes on the first sync, or try reloading the playlist from settings. A fully populated EPG next to every channel is actually a quick, practical way to confirm the whole feed loaded correctly end to end, not just that the channel names came through.
