Every channel you see comes from the playlist line your provider gives you, either an M3U file URL or an Xtream Codes login with a server address, username, and password. The app itself ships with zero channels. When someone says they "added channels," what actually happened is the app pulled and parsed a list that already existed on a server somewhere else. That distinction matters when something goes wrong, because the fix is almost always about the line, not the app settings.

Xtream Codes API login asks for a server address, username, and password, and the app builds the playlist connection itself behind the scenes. Load your Playlist or File URL M3U instead takes one direct link that already points to a formatted list. Both methods reach the same result: a synced channel list grouped into categories. Use whichever format your provider hands you at signup. Pasting an Xtream login into the M3U field, or the reverse, is the single most common reason a fresh setup shows nothing.

An empty list after a successful-looking add usually traces to one of three things: a typo in the URL or port number, a line that expired or was never activated, or a server-side outage on the provider's end. None of these are app problems, so reinstalling or clearing cache won't fix them. Copy the line fresh rather than retyping it by hand, confirm the subscription is active, and try again after a few minutes if the provider's activation is still processing.

Player apps hold the whole channel list in memory, and performance drops once a list runs past roughly 18,000 visible channels bundled across many countries and categories. If your line includes far more than you watch, hide the groups you don't use rather than leaving everything visible. This is a genuine fix, not a workaround: fewer visible entries means less for the app to hold and scroll through, and loading gets noticeably faster on lower-power devices.
