Reversing the order doesn't break anything, but it makes troubleshooting harder if something fails on the first attempt.

Check the Amazon Appstore first, since installing directly from there is the simplest path when the app you want is listed for your specific Firestick model. If it isn't available, sideloading through the Downloader app is the standard alternative, not a workaround limited to unusual cases or unsupported hardware. Either method installs the same app with the same functionality once it's on your device; sideloading just takes a few extra minutes because you're fetching the installer file yourself instead of letting the storefront handle it automatically. Neither method affects how the app performs afterward.

Two things make the biggest difference on Firestick hardware specifically. Set the player's buffer close to zero in playback settings, since a smaller buffer reduces the delay when you switch channels, though it can make a weak connection show stalls more visibly rather than hiding them. Then switch your DNS to a public resolver in either the Firestick's network settings or the player's own settings if it offers one. Both changes address startup speed and channel-switch lag; neither one fixes a server-side fault, so if problems persist after both changes, the cause most likely sits upstream of your device, on the line or the server, not in your settings.
